Bachelor Of Education (BEDU)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The program is designed and developed for working professionals who aspire to administrative and leadership roles in an educational environment. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) offered by the International Open University provides an innovative and convenient program of study, leading to a worthy credential. The distance learning program offers you-the self-directed, motivated adult learner-the needed flexibility to accommodate your busy lifestyle while pursuing your career goals. The program's mission is to develop in its graduates a strong theoretical foundation and the skills needed to optimize educational effectiveness and maximize student achievement. Through study and reflection, students approach practice systemically-with the goal of proactive educational leadership. The program's focus is on textual presentation, application, reflection, and the importance of values and ethics in the roles of educational leaders. The educational environment needs instructional leaders with a focus and vision, strong management skills, and the ability to apply research to improve teaching and learning. IOU requirement for the award of BEDU is 120 credit hours. Student entering into the program with an associate degree/diploma or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline would receive an advanced standing of 30 credit hours.

PROGRAM DELIVERY, DURATION & REQUIREMENTS:

Program Duration: 2 - 3 years Bachelor Programs are offered through Distance Learning and seminar support basis. Students can enroll for these programs from anywhere.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Associate degree or equivalent or completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours at undergraduate level. A minimum of two years of occupational experience in a field related to the degree or area of specialization. For residents of countries other than the US, the applicant should in general have educational qualification comparable to those stated for US residents. Applicants with no qualification but having life time experience will be accepts
