Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT)   

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The Master of Science in Information Technology degree puts leadership skills front and center by preparing students to pursue a career managing information and technology in the digital organization. IOU requirement for the award of MSIT is completion of 42 credit hours.

PROGRAM DELIVERY, DURATION & REQUIREMENTS:

Program Duration: 2 - 3 years Master Programs are offered through Distance Learning and seminar support basis. Students can enroll for these programs from anywhere.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or completion of a minimum of 120 semester credit hours at undergraduate level. For overseas students, the applicant should in general have educational qualification comparable to those stated for US residents.

PROGRAM OUTLINE FOR MSIT:

1. Required courses in the areas of computing, Database administration, operating systems, and system analysis. 17 Credit Hour
2. Other courses: 19 Credit Hour

Additional courses selected with the advisor's approval: Thesis credit, will be in this category: 6 Credit Hour.

Any M.S. candidate in Information Technology may elect to write a thesis and, with the advisor's consent, may apply 6 credit hours of thesis credit toward the total requirements for the M.S. degree. The minimum number of quarter hours for the M.S. degree in Information Technology with a thesis is 42 Credit hours.

Final Examination:

The candidate for the M.S. degree must successfully complete the online examination (either assignments or Project)

Thesis:

The thesis may be in any area deemed acceptable by the thesis committee.
